Museums of Volgograd

Museum-reserve "Old Sarepta" - only in the Volgograd historical and architectural complex, consisting of buildings of the late eighteenth century. The Museum was founded on the basis of the former German colony of Sarepta. The Museum complex "Old Sarepta" was included by presidential decree in the list of objects historical and a cultural heritage of Federal importance. Today it is a major cultural, tourist and research center of Volgograd.
The Museum includes permanent exhibitions on the history of the settlement of Sarepta. In the halls, visitors can see the original household saratan: furniture, utensils, tools and old machines. Guests will learn the history of winemaking in Sarepta, get acquainted with the work of the great scientist saperda Joseph Hamel, and will be able to visit the only in Russia exhibition devoted to mustard.
